Quote of the week
A Word file is the story-fax of the early 21st century: cumbersome, inefficient, and a relic of obsolete assumptions about technology. It’s time to give up on Word.

Word was a train wreck at birth, and I’ve never understood how it became “the standard”. It’s neigh-impossible to format a document just the way you want it, unless you’ve got days to spend learning how to beat it into submission. M$ has taught people to expect to not be able to control their own computer operations……??? To what purpose?
And if you have days to spend learning (a freaking word processor!), a) your formatting probably won’t carry over to another person’s computer and b) you’ll have to learn the “beat into submission” process all over with the next version of word, forever right around the corner.
Something is very wrong with the MSI (Mainstream Software Industry). Along the lines of “most people need a simple computer”. A word processor just shouldn’t be that complicated.
