Check those shortened URLs
Many sites are starting to use URL shorteners to make Web links less fearsomely long. The danger is that a shortened URL may not be what it seems. Already, spam and malware are being spread by misdirected short URLs. If you use Firefox, there is an extension called Verify Redirect that will check out links that try to redirect you to a different page. More details are at Lifehacker.
