Check your hard drive
The other day a friend told me about a problem with his hard drive that suggested to me that his hard drive was going bad. Since his PC was 7 years old, that wouldn’t be unexpected. All hard drives will go bad eventually, some a lot sooner than others. So it is essential to be prepared. Regular backing up is a must, of course, but periodic checks of the hard drive are also a good idea. As I posted previously, keep an ear out for unusual noises. There are also a number of programs available for checking hard drive health. A commercial program that Steve Bass has recommended is Hard Drive Inspector. If its price of $30 seems too much, Bass also mentions the free program CrystalDiskInfo.
