More on people-search

I recently posted about search facilities that were devoted to finding people. There are many such sites but there is one in particular that is getting a lot of favorable mention. It is pipl.com and one thing that distinguishes it is that it searches at least some of what is known as the “deep Web”. There are large portions of the Internet that are not indexed by regular search engines. There are also specialized areas that only specialized search engines devoted to a specific discipline or area of knowledge look at. And apparently, pipl.com looks through some of these.

Pipl.com was the first choice in a Lifehacker reader survey and TechCrunch has a post, Pipl.com: People Search Engine So Good, It Will Scare Your Pants Off.

What’s your favorite search engine for finding people?
