Install Ubuntu on a Windows machine
Here’s an alternate way to install Ubuntu Hardy Heron on an existing Windows system and create a dual-boot setup. It’s called Wubi and it apparently makes installation easy. There’s a good description with screen shots here. Basically, Wubi puts most of the Ubuntu files into a single folder on your Windows volume. For the reaction of one satisfied user, go to this link. I haven’t tried it myself but it sounds promising. As always, remember that computer stuff is unpredictable so be sure to have a complete backup of your Windows system before attempting anything.
