Return of the experts

The Web is famous for empowering just about anybody to say anything they want about whatever they want (except in certain countries with censorship). The supposed egalitarian and democratic downgrading of experts in favor of the common man and woman has led to a lot of erroneous “information” out there. It’s not always easy to know what’s actually true when you are reading something on the Internet. I find plenty of errors in subjects where I have personal knowledge and expertise. According to Newsweek, people are starting to ask for something a little more reliable. An article, Revenge of the Experts, says:

The individual user has been king on the Internet, but the pendulum seems to be swinging back toward edited information vetted by professionals.
