Enable the Desktop Toolbar
Related to the subject of the previous post is the desktop toolbar. It’s all very well to have shortcuts conveniently located on the desktop but in the course of normal work the desktop is frequently covered with opened windows. Then the shortcuts are not so convenient after all. One way around this problem is to make use of the built-in desktop toolbar. As you can see in the figure in the last post, the “Toolbars” section of the context menu for the taskbar contains an entry “Desktop”. Click it to enable a toolbar that will allow you quick access to the desktop even when it is covered up. Of course, this assumes that you have the normal setting for the taskbar where the taskbar is always in front of opened windows. Details of how to configure the taskbar are given at my Computer Education site.
