Holiday gift suggestion
One week until Christmas and you still need a gift for a geek? Last year I made some software suggestions. Those still hold but I am going to add some newsletters to the list.
Newsletters sent by email used to be a major source of information about technical subjects and there were many. There are fewer now but, in spite of blogs, RSS, spam and other things, some excellent ones have survived and provide information that any PC user would like. For a small annual subscription fee of $10-$20, you can send a gift that will keep arriving all year long and provide a storehouse of helpful and informative items. Here are my favorites:
The first two also have free editions with less content than the paid versions but I urge you to support the efforts of the hard-working publishers and editors.
