Job opening at Microsoft in Ministry of Truth
Microsoft is looking to hire someone for the position of “Director of Windows Client Disclosure”. I’m not sure what that means so here is part of the description:
In this highly strategic role, the Director of Windows Client Disclosure will report to the CVP of Windows Product Management and is responsible for managing the full set of disclosures for the Windows Client Operating System business including defining the roadmap of disclosures, reviewing the core messages and driving buy-in across the organization. This includes creating the process and rhythm for the disclosure process over a six-quarter window, developing and maintaining the disclosure message and framework, and making sure that the set of disclosures supports a larger agenda for the Windows Client business.
I suppose that was written in English but I still don’t know what the job is. However, Long Zheng seems to understand Microsoft-speak and he translates the job as “Ministry of Truth” and comments:
Instead of just saying it like it is, it’s not hard to believe in the near future every blog post, press release, interview, podcast and video by Microsoft employees or involving them will have to be filtered to ensure it “drives clarity of message and orchestrated inclusion of key constituencies and audiencesâ€.
