Google keeps rolling

Google is big in the news - again, still.

First, we have the report that Google’s stock market valuation is now the fifth largest of all US stocks. That’s right; the market values Google as worth more than Procter and Gamble or BankAmerica or Cisco Systems.

Next, we have the Google Phone followed by the OpenSocial platform. Mike Elgan says:

Everyone is talking about two big Google projects: The long-awaited Google Phone, and the new OpenSocial initiative. Each is cool, but combined, well, they’re going to change everything.

In connection with the Google Phone, there is the Google mobile operating system and ZDNet asks:

Google is reportedly rolling out its mobile operating system and one thing is clear: It’s going to make a big splash. The question is who will drown in Google’s wake?

I wonder if Steve Ballmer is throwing chairs again.

Update: I can’t write fast enough to keep up with developments. Today Google announced the Open Handset Alliance.
