Speed up reading PDF documents
Adobe’s portable document format (PDF) is a very common way to distribute documents that everyone can read with a free piece of software on a variety of platforms. Unfortunately, the Acrobat PDF reader from Adobe has become more and more bloated over the years and is now cumbersome and slow. One solution is to use some freeware called Adobe Reader Speedup that is mentioned at this link. Personally, I have been using the Foxit Reader, which is much smaller than Acrobat and also faster. A new version, 2.1, is now out.
