Google sanitizes Street View
After receiving flak from privacy proponents, Google has decided to remove human faces and auto license plate numbers from Street View. No longer will you be able to see guys entering strip clubs or breaking into apartments. Looks like one way to get a chance at world fame and immortality is gone. Oh well, there’s always YouTube; they’ll take anything.
Update: There are conflicting reports about Google’s policy. CNET says that faces will be removed on request, not automatically. BTW, the word “flak” used above is from a World War II German abbreviation for anti-aircraft fire. Some people have taken to spelling it “flack” but that is not the original spelling.
