A voice for the little guy
As readers of this blog will have noticed, Walter Mossberg is one of my favorite technology writers. He is also a favorite of a lot of other people and he has just been profiled in the New Yorker magazine. The reason I like Mossberg is not that he is knowledgeable about things technical, which he is, of course. What I particularly like is that he looks at things the way the typical non-technical home user might. Far too often the computer and technology industry seems disconnected from anybody who isn’t a geek. Home users should not have to learn a lot of technical stuff in order to use a PC. If it weren’t blatant plagiarism, I would steal Mossberg’s motto, ““Personal computers are just too hard to use, and it’s not your fault.â€
