Thinking of building a robot?

Microsoft seems to want to get into everything. In case you are planning to build a robot, Microsoft wants it to be powered by them. Mary Jo Foley at Microsoft Watch reports

On June 20, Microsoft released a technology preview build of a development platform that targets robots. The framework and related tools allow developers to build, using a variety of programming languages, browsers and operating systems, the code that serves as the brains behind sensors and other processors that operate bots. Microsoft is now seeking community input on features and functionality in order to advance the platform. Microsoft is expecting to deliver a final version of Microsoft Robotics Studio before the end of 2006, company officials said.
