Quick and easy way to configure ActiveX settings for IE 7

I previously posted about a Web page I put up giving some recommended changes in the security settings for Internet Explorer 7. I know from my experiences in teaching that many people are daunted by a procedure of that sort. To provide some help for those who find the general approach to be too much to attempt, I have written some little programs to deal with one of the common problems. Often, it is some ActiveX component that is involved and disabling ActiveX in the Internet security zone of IE 7 will make surfing safer. In fact, Microsoft often recommends this as a temporary defense against some exploit until the company gets around to patching some hole or the other. Here is a little program that will disable ActiveX in the Internet zone of IE 7. Remember that some sites will not work properly without ActiveX and any that you use regularly should be placed in the Trusted zone where ActiveX will remain enabled. If you don’t like the new settings, here is another program that will restore the default settings.
