Bashing Symantec
As I have noted before, I used to admire and use Norton products but no longer use them since I think that Symantec has ruined this previously stellar group of products. I am not alone in this view of Symantec. The Gripe Log (now at InfoWorld) has an entry An Invite to a Symantec Bash where a lot of people express their unhappiness with Symantec. Many of the comments are from those who, like me, are former users of Norton products and think Symantec has messed up good software. Personally, I don’t think Symantec knows how to write decent code. Furthermore, Symantec seems to have decided to practically eliminate support for consumer products. So, if you use their products and have trouble, don’t expect much help.
