Easy ways to access favorite folders with custom toolbars

If you have several folders that you access frequently, you can have them readily at hand by creating a custom toolbar. First, create a folder that contains the shortcuts you want. Then, to create a taskbar-based toolbar, right-click an empty area of the Task Bar, select Toolbars and then New Toolbar. Choose your folder in the “New Toolbar” dialog that appears. What’s the advantage of this over a desktop shortcut to the folders? It’s always available in the taskbar whereas the desktop can get covered up.

You can, however, make the desktop itself a toolbar. In the “New Toolbar” list is an entry “Desktop”. Click this and you will have a toolbar that gives access to the Desktop even when it is covered up with open programs and files.
