Understanding and adding RAM

In many PC systems adding more Random Access Memory (RAM) is the easiest and most economical way to improve the performance. Although the average PC user is probably loath to have to do anything that means opening up the PC case, it is actually a very simple process to plug in an extra memory board. PC Magazine has two articles that will help. The article Understanding Memory gives tips on deciding if more RAM is needed and what kind of RAM to choose. A second article Adding More Memory shows pictures of how to actually do the installation. If you like to have a lot of things open at the same time or run any heavy-duty processes like video editing, you’ll be glad to have more RAM.
